The character first appeared in Avengers #54 (1968), and was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist John Buscema. First known as the Crimson Cowl, Ultron becomes known as Ultron 5 in Avengers #55 and later on as other versions as he keeps coming back after being defeated by the Avengers. We have heard that there is an Ultron 18 and a female Ultron running around. There are even rumors of a future Ultron 59 but this is the first Ultron as created from the mind of Hank Pym. Ultron's outer armor is composed of primary adamantium, The first reference to "adamantium" in Marvel Comics was made in reference to Ultron in Avengers #66, published in July 1969.
